Will definatley let you know when we visit. Alaska is on our list too but have to save a lot for that one lol. The girls went to the mt [not sure the name the one close to the city] that was of course covered in snow so they were very happy as they had never seen any before. I agree you do live in a beautiful part of the world. We don't have the same history where I live and it is too hot for me in summer lol and not cold enough in winter cause I would like a little snow. I LOOOVVVE old buildings too so montreal is great.

Yes, you can see what we call the "North Shore" moutains, right from downtown. You can get there in about 20 minutes. But the nice thing about living in Vancouver, we rarely get snow. If we do, it only lasts a couple of days, yet you can go 20 minutes up the mountain and ski all day. Whistler, where they had the majority of the Olympics 2 years ago is about 1-1/2 hours north.
That's what I love about Vancouver, not too hot in the summer with the exception of a few weeks, and not too cold in the winter, with the exception of a few weeks. We get all 4 seasons - that's what I love.
