Smile Quick Page Exchange - Brandi's Hayes Page Kit

So, not sure what this thing is all about??? It's quite simple, create a quick page with Brandi's Hayes Page Kit and you'll receive an album back full of quick pages made by each of the participants. Check out our QP Exchange Gallery to see what the participants have created.

Each participant will submit at least 1 quick page but not more than 2 using this kit only. At the end of this exchange, all participants will receive all submitted quick pages including a special one created by Brandi.

Guidelines:

* Layouts should be created and saved at 12" x 12" and 300ppi.
* If you are familiar with creating a quick page in a transparent .png file, please submit it in that format.
* If you are not, we have a couple of tutorials to help you in this area: Paint Shop Pro & Photoshop
* If you are unable to create a .png file, please design your quick page by creating your layout and using a white or black area (whichever is of most contrast to your layout) for the photo placements. Save your layout as a flattened .jpg file at full resolution (unless you are submitting a png file already) . I will take what you submit and punch out the areas for photos and convert them to transparent .png files before sending them all back to the participants.
* Please name your files as follows to help me track these easier. YourForumName_KitName_QP.png so as an example, mine would be brandiwest_hayes_QP.png.
* Save a preview of your quick page at 600x600 and upload it to the Quick Page Exchange Gallery for all the oooohs and ahhhs!
* Holly will need the preview .jpg at 600x600, and either the .png or .jpg file at the full 12x12 size sent to me. You may use any file sharing site of your choice, or you can zip it up and email Holly the zip at holly@godigitalscrapbooking.com.
* Sign-ups are required for this so that we know who is working on pages.
* You may submit up to 2 quickpages for this challenge.
* I will keep this post updated to reflect participants and whether files have been received.
* The submission deadline for this round is end of the day on Thursday, June 22nd. Please be sure to send me the files by that time as well.

Traci - no problem - you're worth it! Or should I say "Hayes" is worth it!

Our Model A Restorers Club's annual meet is in Williamsburg next week, so we're leaving on Saturday and will be gone for a week. We're not driving our Model A this year - first time ever not driving it to the meet- but my husband is on the board of directors this year and will be tied up in meetings, and I'm the editor for their magazine and will be taking lots of photos and covering all of the events going on. And I want to have a modern car to run and do errands and go to places to take photos - I don't know how to drive a Model A yet - it's only been about 20 years - one of these days when my husband has time to teach me -

I'll have my laptop with me and hopefully can connect to the site to grab the DDs and see what's going on - but I won't have any time to do any scrapping next week - I'm going to have withdrawals - I think!

Here are TWO pages from me for the exchange. Traci - Hope you like them!
Brandi - I'll email you the pages later.

Here's a tip I came across the other day. how to convert any ribbon or line of text (that's been rasterized) into a CIRCLE frame. This opens up all kinds of possibilities in using ribbons and charm braclets, etc from kits - and making frames out of them. Thought I would pass the tip along. It worked for me in PSCS2 - don't know about other software - but if your software has a distort/polar coordinate filter - then this should work.

I made the circle frames on one of the pages out of some ribbons and chain in the kit.

1. Open ribbon.
2. Click Image - Canvas size - and change the HEIGHT to the exact same size as the width of ribbon. canvas size must be a square.
3. Hit cntl+t or click on ribbon to increase size to 200%.
4. Go to Filter - Distort - Polar Coordinates. Click on Rectangle to Polar, and then click Ok.
5. Long ribbon is now a circle - or oval. Just adjust the size and shape of the circle - you might want a circle - you might want an oval.

I thought this was a cool trick. Now you can make circle frames out of ribbons. I know - I may be the only one who didn't know how to do that - but just in case - I thought I'd share.
