I use PSP 7 and made an element for a layout. I would like to save it but want to make sure that its at 300 dpi.
My image started with the transparent background at 300 and I did the export - png optimizer - with alpha channels I did this once and it wound up saving it at 72 so how can I be sure its at 300? |

I don't use PSP, but in photoshop I would make a new transparent document slightly larger than the element with a dpi of 300 and drag the element onto it. Then save as png.

I also use Photoshop and there is a neat "trim" feature under Image, which takes away just the right amount of transparent pixel, then save as PNG file.
