Help w/ PSE5

I am trying to do a layout and I have to admit that I am still really new to all of this and am still learning. I am wandering how you all make a picture look like it is underneath your background paper. I have been trying to do this all day and cannot figure it out, nor find any tutorials on how to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

you have to play with the blending modes and the opacity... they are there in your choices where you layers palette is... good luck! You'll love it when you figure it out!

Thanks I finally figured it out after reading through a few more tutorials in the calls for help forum. It is so easy I feel stupid for not figuring it out sooner. Thanks for the help though!
