Advice on upgrading from a point & shoot?

I actually sold mine and it was in great shape, the purchaser actually gave me more money for it than I was originally selling it for.

My point is, in these hard times, a used one in good condition could be a wonderful alternative to buying new given how expensive they can be (I know mine was over $900.00 when purchased new!)

WOOHOO!! Just got my early Christmas present from Neal. Given that I'm going to be a grandma soon and will need to learn how to use this, I really needed it early!! I got a Canon EOS Rebel T2i. OMG!! Now to figure out how to put the strap on it!! LOL!

Taking out my lessons that I took way back when!!
