UGGHH!! I know I've done this before and I can't seem to figure it out since I don't do it all the time!!! I want to take a shape and the shape out of a paper. I want the paper intact except for where I've cut out the shape!! How do I do this!!

What program are you using?
If it's Photoshop or Elements, you can use the shape tool or the cookie cutter tool. If you use the shape tool, it's nestled with the pencil tool and a few others, make a shape by choosing one from the drop down menu bar across the top of your work space. Double click on the shape, then close the shape picker, click on your document and draw out with your mouse. Then you can drag your paper on top and clip it to the shape with Control + G. Is that what you meant? |

Anna....are you talking cutting a shape where you can see the paper below?
If so, then use the Custom Shape Tool and draw out your shape....simplify the layer, then use the Magic Wand tool and select the shape and then delete and there you have the shape cut out and the bottom paper showing thru.
