Artesia is way down there. It looked like you would have some bad weather earlier this week. A freeze warning or storm warning.
Albuquerque has it's advantages for sure, but I am glad I ended up in this backwards little town. It is, hmm, how does that saying go, an exercise in contradiction? Anyway, I moved to NM to get away from the fast pace ad traffic, no grass, no room to breathe. I guess I take up a lot of space! LOL I really wanted my dd, who is now 10 and doesn't remember living in IL, to have a Mayberryish upbringing. Missed that mark, but it's okay. We live by the Rio Grande (romantic for those of us who grew up with dad's watching westerns on the tv) which means we have trees and grass(!), with Turtleback Mountain outside my kitchen window, the desert is just a stones throw away and the largest lake in the state is 15 minutes away in Elephant Butte. Best of it all for me. Good to touch base with some people who know of the place. I'm glad to hear from those who have enjoyed a week or two in our in Enchanted state.
