The instructions are as follows:
You'll receive 1 instruction every 10 minutes for the next hour. Artistic Interpretation is allowed, just let us in on how you got to where you ended up. Once the hour is up, you'll have another hour to upload your layout to the Miscellaneous Gallery (link will be posted later) and to link it back in this thread.
If you're new, or lost, feel free to ask any question you like! I, or one of our fabulous SS Junkies will be happy to answer! DO NOT GET DISCOURAGED! Sometimes the steps might seem difficult...or sometimes they ARE difficult...don't give up! Pull our your Creative License and do what you feel, or go where it leads you :)...we don't want anyone to feel "lost"....the goal is to create a place where you can get your SS rush, and try something new! And honestly, some of my favorite pages were ones I threw together in a Speed Scrap! So enjoy!
You will NOT be disqualified unless you don't post a layout...so what have you got to lose? Let's have some FUN!

Ask any questions you like as we move along...we're going to jump right in!

Ready? If you check the beginning post, you know that you need 2-3 close up photos. And so we begin with.....

1. Pick 2 papers. Think "monochromatic" - are all the hues (tints and shades) of a single color. Use one as your background, and use the other to create a slight curved shape along the left side of your page.

1. Pick 2 papers. Think "monochromatic" - are all the hues (tints and shades) of a single color. Use one as your background, and use the other to create a slight curved shape along the left side of your page.
2. Crop your photos into circular shapes, remembering that we want a close up, of the subject. Place one of the photos in the top right of the layout, one in the middle section, but NOT directly in the middle, and one in the bottom left section of your page. (If you only picked two photos, duplicate one).

NO you can't watch! Mono chromatic means two shades of the same color...like light pink and dark pink, or tan and chocolate.....sorry I should have explained it better...it sounded scarier than it was :-)

SlidingKat

monochromatic

mono = 1
chromatic = color

One color with different tints (like dark blue and light blue)

10-09-2009, 06:30 PM
1. Pick 2 papers. Think "monochromatic" - are all the hues (tints and shades) of a single color. Use one as your background, and use the other to create a slight curved shape along the left side of your page.

3. Use a piece of mesh, chickenwire, or lace (something see-through-ish) underneath the photo in the top righthand side of the page, and extending down the side.

DO NOT LET THIS NEXT STEP SCARE YOU!

For the next several steps, think clustering....I'll give you an item/or items and you use it, duplicating as many times as you'd like, in a cluster. keep in mind, however, that you'll want it LOOSELY clustered..you still want to see somme of the mesh/chickenwire/lace through the clustered items.
4. Pick 3 different flowers, 2 different leaf elements, 3 "live" elements (representations of animals, insects, etc), 2 strings, a heart, a tag and something metal.

(If you only picked two photos, duplicate one).
3. Use a piece of mesh, chickenwire, or lace (something see-through-ish) underneath the photo in the top righthand side of the page, and extending down the side.
5. 1 scattered bits element and some "sparklies", one star, and a ribbon that can be used as a frame for your center photo.

Ok - who jinxed the speed scrap?? Can you believe that the USB port on my EHD just bit the dust? It got unplugged, I went to plug it in, and it's now free-moving. Like the weld broke. Holy cow.... I hope that the hdd inside the EHD is one that I can move to somewhere else and still access. If not, I'm in big, big trouble...

3. Use a piece of mesh, chickenwire, or lace (something see-through-ish) underneath the photo in the top righthand side of the page, and extending down the side.

This is my first speed scrap, I could not find ribbon to go around my center pic. This is my baby Keyla.

Sorry for putting this on here so many times, I was trying to insert the layout, and finally did it. Thanks NAVAR57

This was my first speed scrapbooking, and I really liked it, it just took longer than I anticipated to complete the layout, but it was really fun, thanks for the challenge!!

Ladies, you are SPECTACULAR!! I've just come from our rockin' gallery, and I'm amazed by the creativity there! And we had a bunch of first timers and they rose to the challenge!!! And this one WAS a challenge!

So glad you all came....it was fun to get to know you a little better, and to see your beautiful art! I hope you'll come again next time!

I'm off to cut multiple heads of hair, and attend a business luncheon, but I"ll be back later to send out posting bonuses and announce the winner of the drawing!

Thanks everyone!

I agree - love all the different variations of the same instructions! Wonderful pages!! Thanks for a fun speed scrap!

Isn't it just amazing how we all had the same instructions and they all look so different. I think that's so interesting.
